So it’s that time of the year again, everyone is making promises to be more fit, healthy or kick that habit. What are your goals for this year? Here are 5 great green tea recipes that I have personally tasted and most importantly enjoyed! Firstly you will want to brew the tea and allow to cool before adding. Follow the instructions on the packet but at King and Queen, we recommend 4 mins for our Simply Green tea.

Pine Green Tea Smoothie

Banana Pine Tea Smoothie

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

200ml freshly brewed Green Tea (cooled to room temperature)

½ cup fresh greens (Kale, Spinach, Broccoli, etc.)

1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple

1 small banana

½ cup coconut milk

A handful of ice cubes

Simply blend together and enjoy this tropical-tasting Pine Tea Smoothie. The pineapples sweet and tart flavour profile helps balance the bitter greens leaving you with a balanced beverage.

 

Peach Green Tea Smoothie

Serves: 2

Ingredients:

200ml freshly brewed Green Tea (cooled to room temperature)

1 cup of frozen peaches

1 small banana

½ cup Greek yoghurt

½ cup of ice cubes

Blend together for an icy peach smoothie that is healthy and delicious. Depending on the season peaches can be a bit tart, sometimes a spoon of honey can help sweeten it up naturally.

200ml freshly brewed Green Tea (cooled to room temperature)

1 small handful of fresh chopped mint

1 cup Almond Milk

½  cup spinach

2 teaspoons honey

½ an avocado

Ingredients:

200ml freshly brewed Green Tea (cooled to room temperature)

1 small handful of parsley

1 Pink Lady apple

1 Avocado

½ cup of Kale

½ cup of Broccoli

1cm cube of chopped ginger

¼ cup water

Small handful ice cubes

1 ½ cups of frozen berries

1 small handful of roast almonds

1 cup of Greek yoghurt

Blend these ingredients together for a refreshing delicious drink packed with fibre and antioxidants. This drink will help you start your day or is the perfect mid-afternoon pick me up.
